The device takes Typhos pods with 0.3 ohm dual mesh (26–45 W), 0.6 ohm (13–25 W) and 0.8 ohm (10–18 W). Each coil is fixed, so the whole pod is replaced.

Inside the Uwell Typhos SE sits a non-removable 2,000 mAh cell; output reaches 45 W. The aluminium body carries a faux-leather panel with diamond embossing. Instead of a screen, a round LED indicator reports battery and mode.

Two modes, one light ring
The ring on the front glows violet in Wave mode and orange in Storm mode. Switching takes three quick taps on the USB-C port. The device fires on draw, and the side slider sets the airflow from tight to open.

Device and 0.6 ohm pod
Magnets seat the pod, whose mouthpiece is moulded in. Refilling happens through a rubber-capped port in the flank of the Typhos pod. Recharging the Typhos SE draws at most 2 A through its USB-C socket.

Colours
Five faux-leather versions
Blue, grey, green-gold, red and black. On green-gold the frame and ring are gold-coloured, on the others dark. Electronics and box contents do not vary.
Setup
Ready in four steps

Charge
Charge the Typhos SE on its USB-C socket until the LED shows green.

Fill
Lift the rubber plug on the Typhos pod, top up with liquid, push the plug back.

Wait
Give the fresh pod time so the mesh coil is fully wetted.

Adjust
Insert the pod, start with the slider fairly closed and stay within the coil range.

How do I switch between Wave and Storm?
Tap the USB-C port three times quickly. Wave glows violet, Storm orange.
Does the Typhos SE have a fire button?
No. Inhaling through the pod triggers the coil.
What does the battery LED show?
Green means more than 60 %, blue 30 to 60 %, red below 30 %.

Resistance suits me
The old one served its purpose, now it was time for a new one. I think 0.6 Ohm is a good choice of resistance for my liquid. At 45 W the power is more than adequate for me. Dispatched on Sunday evening, unpacked the day after. Thanks to Side Fill, refilling takes a matter of seconds.
