Mint is a herbal flavour: green, spicy, with a cool note that comes from the plant itself. This herbal character sets it apart from menthol, and its distinct taste of its own sets it apart from ice.
What mint stands for in the lines
The most frequent pairing is mint with bubblegum, known as the peppermint chewing gum flavour. Mint also joins fruits: blueberry and grape form a dark, sweet base, orange and lemon a citrus direction. In both cases the mint gives the fruit a herbal edge.
