Charcoal tongs
With charcoal tongs you pick up and turn glowing charcoal and move it from the lighter into the basket or onto the attachment. Besides classic tongs you will find slim charcoal tweezers. Length, tip and handle determine how they handle.

What you notice in the grip
A longer pair of tongs keeps more distance from the embers. Good tips hold the charcoal securely even when turning. Wide gripping surfaces and slim tweezer tips feel different in the hand; you can see shape and length on the respective model.
Coatings and colours determine the look. For the session, a firm grip and a straight tip count.
After the session
Let the tongs cool down and remove ash and residue gently. Coated surfaces are cared for differently from bare stainless steel. If the tongs are bent or loose, replace them with new ones.
