Telling the heat paths apart
A chimney attachment works with a screen and chimney tube. An HMD holds the charcoal in the attachment; some models also have a lid. Electric heads generate the heat themselves and are a device type of their own.
Seat and material
Compare head and attachment by diameter and rim. Aluminium absorbs heat faster than stainless steel; wall thickness and design also influence behaviour. A lid is only part of the regulation if the model you choose has one.
