Hookain tip: More money gets you better materials, more precise manufacturing and a device that stays airtight for many years. But the smoke comes from your bowl. So plan your bowl and HMD in from the start; many premium models don't come with a bowl.
What you pay for in this price range
The stems are usually made of CNC-milled stainless steel, often V2A or AISI 321, on some models combined with anodised aluminium or real wood. The parts fit together precisely, and threads and connections stay airtight even after many sessions. On top of that come crystal glass bases and details such as click or magnetic connections, molasses catchers, diffusers and blow-off valves.

Care so it lasts
After the session, empty the water, run warm water and a brush through the stem and dip tube and let everything dry. Only wipe wooden parts, don't soak them. If threads, valve or adjusters get stuck, descaling helps, for example with citric acid. For many brands you'll find seals, glass bases or valve balls under hookah spare parts.
Premium or budget?
