The Mira HMD V2A stainless steel in silver is a stainless steel heat management device for standard bowls. It measures around 7.4 cm in diameter and has room for two to three coals. The charcoal sits in the HMD instead of on aluminium foil.

Stainless steel stores the heat longer

Stainless steel absorbs the heat of the charcoal more slowly than aluminium, but stores it longer and gets hotter overall. You often get by with less charcoal, whereas too much charcoal quickly burns the tobacco. Better start carefully and add more. The metal stays hot after the session; only touch it with tongs or a glove.

How to use the HMD

1. Pack the tobacco loosely into the bowl and do not press it down.
2. Put the HMD on the bowl.
3. Place two to three well-glowing coals inside.
4. Heat up for three to four minutes.
5. Control the heat through the number of coals: if the smoke is harsh, take out one coal; if the heat drops, add more.

Care and note

Do not put the HMD on the charcoal burner, as this can damage it. Let it cool down completely after the session and clean it with warm water and a brush.
