Only a few models are listed under 32 W, from brands including Elf Bar and Vaporesso. Some of the items also carry 45 W. A device with two power ratings may, for example, have two operating levels; which figure applies to what is stated with the model.
Watts, joules, seconds
- Unit: 32 W means that 32 joules of electrical energy are converted per second.
- Heat: This energy ends up as heat in the heating wire of the head.
- Comparison: At 45 W it is a good 40 per cent more energy in the same time, and the battery drains correspondingly faster.
The wattage is therefore a statement about the device, not about the liquid. For the head, the range given by its manufacturer applies. Power and resistance together determine what voltage is applied and what current flows; you can combine both attributes in the filter.
