The AO bowl grommet is a smooth silicone ring that seals the joint between bowl and stem, about 2.5 cm high. It comes in black and in white.

A tight seal between bowl and stem
The conical ring fills the gap at the push-fit joint. That stops the hookah drawing extra air there and keeps the pull even.

Smooth silicone, 4 mm wall
The wall is about 0.4 cm thick; outside, the grommet measures 1.9 cm at the narrow end and 2.8 cm at the wide end. Silicone copes with the warmth at the bowl and does not hold on to tobacco smell.
Fit and care
A wear part
Rinse the grommet with water now and then. Once it turns hard, cracks or smells of old tobacco, fit a new one.

You get one AO smooth silicone bowl grommet in the colour you choose. Black and white differ only in colour.

How do I fit the grommet?
Pull off the old one, push the new one on straight without twisting, then press the bowl on without force.
How can I tell it leaks?
Take a short pull on the hose. If the joint hisses, the grommet is crooked or worn.
Is there a difference between black and white?
No, dimensions and material are the same; only the colour differs.

Stimmt einfach alles. Hab es meinem Kumpel gezeigt, der gerade anfängt, und er war sofort überzeugt. Kurz unter Wasser, und es ist wieder sauber. Da verbiegt sich nichts, auch wenn man mal fester ansetzt. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Passt, bis auf eins
Konnte es am Dienstag gleich beim nächsten Kopf ausprobieren, ohne vorher zu putzen. Die Sessions laufen runder, weil der Kopf besser vorbereitet ist. Die richtige Technik musste ich erst herausfinden. Unterm Strich eine gute Wahl.
