The Pascha Phunnel Gitano is a tall Phunnel made of stoneware and red clay, shaped by hand, fired and glazed in a small workshop in Sevilla. The Gitano finish is kept in beige and brown, the reservoir measures around 6.6 cm.
Phunnel instead of multi-hole
In the middle of the reservoir stands a chimney with a single hole. The tobacco lies around the chimney and not over the airflow. The molasses therefore stays in the bowl and does not drip into the smoke column. At a good 10 cm tall, the Pascha is taller than a classic Tradi bowl.
Stoneware and red clay from Sevilla
For the Pascha, white stoneware and heat-resistant red clay are combined and fired at 1250 °C. The inside of the reservoir has a fine glaze so that molasses does not soak into the material so easily and the bowl is easier to clean. Because every bowl is made by hand, every piece is one of a kind.
HMD or aluminium foil
The rim has the standard size, common HMDs sit on cleanly. Alternatively, you stretch aluminium foil tight over the bowl and poke small holes above the tobacco. On the bowl adapter, a silicone bowl grommet keeps it firmly seated.
How to pack the Pascha
- Briefly stir the tobacco in the tin so that the molasses spreads, shorten long fibres a little.
- Lay the tobacco loosely and evenly in a ring around the chimney and do not press it down.
- Fill up to just below the rim so that two to three millimetres of air remain to the HMD or the foil.
- No leaf may lie in or over the chimney hole. Wipe the rim clean so that the HMD or foil sits flat.
- Put the HMD on or stretch and perforate the foil, place the charcoal and get it going calmly.

Frequently asked questions
How much tobacco fits in the Pascha?
Packed loosely to just below the rim, the Pascha holds about 18 g of Virginia or 20 g of dark leaf. How much it turns out to be for you depends on cut, moisture and packing style.
Does an HMD fit on the Pascha Phunnel?
Yes, the rim has the standard size. Common HMDs sit on top, aluminium foil works just as well.
Does the chimney have to stay free?
Yes. The chimney hole is the only airflow. If tobacco falls in, the bowl draws worse and tobacco ends up in the smoke column.
How do I clean the bowl?
Only once the bowl has cooled down completely do you rinse it out with lukewarm water. Hot ceramic cannot take a cold shock, otherwise the glaze can crack.
