For e-liquids, the label sour is almost always tied to fruit. Sweet is often listed as well; together this results in a sweet-and-sour profile in which the acidity sets the tone.
Where the acidity comes from
Typical sources of acidity in the flavour filter are lemon, lime, grapefruit, kiwi or passion fruit. Which fruit is behind an e-liquid is shown by combining flavour label and flavour value. If cold is listed, a cooling effect is added; sparkling stands for a soda note, especially intense for a strongly pronounced flavour.
Besides the taste, the recipe counts: the PG/VG ratio and the draw style an e-liquid is intended for are given in the product description, as is the format – ready-mixed, with nicotine salt or as a shortfill. Sour e-liquids are available from Pod Salt, SC, Elf Bar, Revoltage and RandM, among others.
