Lime is sourer and more bitter than lemon and has a green, almost spicy peel note. In tobacco it rarely serves as the main fruit, but rather as a source of acidity that sharpens other flavours.
This shows in its partners. Lemon is far ahead, followed by grapefruit – together they give an all-citrus profile. Elderberry follows as a dark fruit brightened by the lime. Mint and ice are level and make the combination herbal or cool, a pattern familiar from mint and lime drinks.
Multi-hole bowl and molasses
The base of a multi-hole bowl usually has several small holes. Molasses can run down through them into the stem, which is why you clean it more often than with a phunnel. Lime varieties are available from brands including 187 Strassenbande, Blaze Dark Leaf, 7Days, Aino and Musthave.
