The lemon flavour is bright and sour, with the essential-oil bitterness of the peel. Compared with lime, lemon seems rounder and less green; compared with orange, clearly more sour. Grapefruit also belongs to the citrus group but brings more bitterness.

Lemon with citrus, coolness or fruit

  • Lime: the most frequent partner, a double citrus accent.
  • Mint, ice, menthol: lemon with a cooling effect, very common when taken together.
  • Orange: a sweeter citrus fruit that rounds off the acidity and makes the variety juicier.
