For testing and taking along
With the trial pack you get to know the Brennstoff cubes without immediately taking a kilo. It also fits in your bag when you are on your way to a session. How far 8 cubes go depends on your bowl, the foil and the heat you run.
Natural charcoal: lighting with a charcoal lighter
The cubes are natural charcoal without an igniter additive. They cannot be lit with a lighter; you need a charcoal lighter, electric or gas. After a few minutes they are ready. Let them glow through all around until a grey layer of ash lies on the cubes. Then the charcoal is taste-neutral. If you put it on too early, you risk an unpleasant aftertaste. As a guide, suppliers quote about one and a half to two hours of glow time for 26 mm coconut cubes.
How to test the cubes
- Put some of the cubes on the lighter with the tongs.
- Let them glow through all around and tap off loose ash.
- Place them with the tongs on foil or HMD and start smoking.
- Check heat and taste and, if needed, add a freshly glowing cube.
- Only light and use charcoal with good ventilation.
Storage
Close the pack again after opening and keep it dry.
