AO Hookah Wix is a ceramic paste for the joints of your hookah. Applied thinly to the outer joint, the hose connector and the molasses catcher are easier to plug on and release again.
So the joint does not get stuck
Ground glass joints on the molasses catcher and hose connector often sit so tight when dry that you have to pull or twist hard to release them. Glass parts can easily tilt and break in the process. A thin layer of Wix lets the parts glide and helps to seal the connection.
How to apply Wix
- Make the joint clean and dry.
- Sparingly put a little paste from the tube onto the outer joint.
- Plug on the connector or molasses catcher and twist slightly as you do so, so the paste spreads evenly.
In the hookah care accessories you will find more aids. Wix is also intended as a thread paste: on screw connections of the hookah, the thread is easier to open later with it.
Scope of delivery
- 1 × AO Hookah Wix, 10 g in the tube
Frequently asked questions
How much paste do I need?
Very little. A thin film on the outer joint is enough, and when you plug it on with a twist the paste spreads by itself.
Why not just use Vaseline?
Some people use Vaseline or oil, others do not grease at all. Wix is made specifically for hookah joints and is applied sparingly, just like these household remedies.

Richtig praktisch
