An economical phunnel for little tobacco
The Low Load comes to around 6 g with a gap and about 8 g with light contact to the HMD. The values come from tests with the Hookain Nature Base. Depending on the tobacco and version, more can fit; the figure is given on each head.
Hookain tip: On your first pack, start with a gap. That gives you a quick feel for how the Low Load works with a small fill, without getting too aggressive straight away.
How to pack the Low Load
The Low Load is compatible with all common HMDs. What matters most is a clean, even build: spread the tobacco loosely around the centre hole instead of pressing it firmly into the reservoir.
- With a gap: approx. 6 g for an especially economical pack
- With light contact: approx. 8 g if you like it stronger
- Packing style: leave the centre hole free and spread the tobacco loosely to just below the rim
Choosing an HMD and managing heat
For the Low Load we recommend a stainless steel HMD. Aluminium HMDs work as well. So you do not have to change your setup completely, but with small fill amounts you should work cleanly with the heat.
If you pack with a gap, the head usually runs calmer. With light contact the smoke becomes stronger, but the head then reacts faster to too much heat.
Hookain tip: Better to heat moderately and adjust the heat as needed. That way you find the point where the head runs cleanly faster with the Low Load.
When the Low Load suits you
The Low Load is worth it above all if you want to pack deliberately with little tobacco and lower your consumption.
| Packing style | Fill amount | When it suits |
|---|---|---|
| With a gap | approx. 6 g | calm, especially economical pack |
| With light contact | approx. 8 g | stronger pack |
The Low Load comes in various designs, for example Stardust, Candy or Shox. Fill amount and material can differ by version; the details are given on each head.
Buying the Low Load and tuning it cleanly
If you want a Hookain phunnel for small fill amounts, the Low Load is an obvious choice. Start with about 6 g with a gap and, if needed, work up to around 8 g with light contact. That way you quickly find the setup that suits your tobacco and your heat management.
If you do not know which head suits your setup, the Head Finder is the first thing to try.
