The AO glass molasses catcher is a cylinder made of clear glass with an 18/8 ground joint. It is about 15 cm high, weighs about 150 g and holds back molasses and tobacco residue before they run into the base.
Function
While you smoke, molasses and tobacco residue drip down from the head. The molasses catcher collects them in the glass. That keeps the water in the base clean for longer and makes the smoke column easier to clean. Because the glass is clear, you can always see how much has already collected.

Fit
The catcher sits on an 18/8 ground joint. It therefore fits hookahs and attachments that have this joint. Before inserting it, quickly check whether your smoke column and your head adapter are 18/8.
How to use it
- Check whether your connection has an 18/8 joint.
- Insert the molasses catcher between the smoke column and the head.
- Put the head on and start the session.
- Empty the catcher after the session or as soon as molasses has visibly collected.
Care and cleaning
Partly fill the molasses catcher with water at the tap, cover the top and bottom, shake it hard and empty it. A little hookah cleaner helps with dried-on molasses. Glass breaks on hard knocks: put the catcher down on something soft while cleaning.
