The Vaporesso Luxe XR Max 2 is a pod mod with a built-in 3,200 mAh battery, up to 80 watts and a 0.96-inch colour display. The kit contains two pods of 5 ml each: a DL pod with a GTX Dual Mesh coil and an MTL pod. It is filled from the bottom. The Cloud Pink version is a light, powdery pink.
Battery and power
The battery is built in. It charges via USB-C at 5 V and 2 A. The AXON chip regulates up to a maximum of 80 watts and offers the Eco, Smart and Pulse modes. In Smart mode the device recognises GTX coils by itself. The body measures around 108 × 32 × 26 mm.
Pod and coils
The Luxe XR pods are made of PCTG and hold 5 ml each. You fill them from the bottom and a silicone seal closes the opening. They hold magnetically on the mod. The GTX coils are mesh coils and are meant to be replaced, not rewound by hand. The device works with resistances from 0.15 to 1.2 ohm.

The Luxe XR Max empty pods in the new version, all GTX coils and Luxe X pods with Corex 2.0 coil are also compatible.
Operation
The device has a fire button but no draw activation. Five clicks switch it on and off, three clicks open the power selection and two clicks open the menu. A button lock prevents accidental firing. The colour display shows the key values and RGB LEDs report the device status. You set the airflow continuously with the slider on the side, from MTL to DL.
How to get started with the Luxe XR Max 2
- Charge the battery fully via USB-C.
- Fill the pod you want from the bottom and close the silicone seal.
- Let the coil soak for a few minutes until the cotton is saturated. Otherwise there is a risk of dry hits.
- Attach the pod magnetically and switch the device on with five clicks.
- Start at low power within the coil's wattage range and raise it if needed.
- Set the draw resistance with the airflow slider.

Okay für den Preis
Nach Jahren mit demselben Gerät war es Zeit für etwas Neues. Mit Bottom Fill muss ich nichts abschrauben, das spart Gefummel. Ein leises Rauschen beim Zug stört mich abends in der Gartenlaube ein wenig, wenn es ruhig ist. Ob ich es noch einmal nehme, lasse ich offen. 👌

Decent
After three months, one thing is certain: the 80 W is more than enough, I usually run well below it. Personally I find it a touch too bulky for a trouser pocket.

Geht in Ordnung
Meine Liquids schmecken darin so, wie sie sollen, nichts wirkt verwaschen. Die Oberfläche fühlt sich angenehm an, weder glitschig noch rau. Optisch ist es mir etwas zu schlicht, da hätte ich mir mehr Pfiff gewünscht.
