The ACHO BRA by Brüstuck is a stoneware garlic grater: a flat plate 12.5 cm in diameter with a rough, textured centre. On it, you grate peeled cloves into a fine paste.

How to grate garlic

Peel the clove and rub it over the grating surface in small circles, pressing lightly. This gives you an even paste for dressings, aioli, marinades or garlic butter. You can grate ginger or nutmeg the same way. As no metal is involved, no metallic taste is left behind.

Designs and craftsmanship

The ACHO BRA comes in several colour designs. Each grater is shaped, fired, painted and glazed by hand in a small family workshop in Spain. That is why the pattern and colour gradient turn out slightly different on every piece. The smooth, glazed underside sits steadily on the worktop.

Cleaning

Rinse the grater under warm water straight after use. Loosen any residue in the grooves with a soft brush.

Do I need to peel the garlic clove first?

Yes. Remove the skin and grate only the peeled clove over the surface.

How do I get the paste out of the grooves?

Gather it up with a pastry brush or a spatula. You don’t need sharp metal cutlery for this.

Can I grate ginger on it too?

Yes. Peeled ginger and nutmeg can be grated just as finely on the rough surface.
