Maklaud - Brass Poker - Baby Blady

The Maklaud brass foil poker Baby Blady is a foil poker that looks like a miniature sword. It is made of brass, comes from Russia and is finished in gold, silver and metallic.

Foil poker in sword design

In the scene, a foil piercer is often simply called a poker. The Baby Blady does the same job as any other: you use it to pierce holes in the foil on the bowl. What is special is the shape, which resembles a small sword.

For packing with foil

The poker belongs to the classic setup with heavy-duty foil or aluminium foil, ideally with a multi-hole bowl or phunnel. Through the holes, the heat of the coals reaches the tobacco and the smoke is drawn off. It is important that the holes are evenly distributed.

How to pierce the foil

1. Fill the tobacco loosely into the bowl and do not press it down. Leave some space between the tobacco and the foil.
2. Pull the foil tight over the rim of the bowl. Heavy-duty foil is enough in a single layer; household foil you lay double or triple.
3. Pierce the holes. A circle of many small holes is common; on a phunnel, the middle usually stays free.
4. Blow lightly into the bowl from below. If the air comes through well, you can put on the coals and heat up.
