Gorilla natural charcoal 26 are charcoal cubes for the hookah with an edge length of 26 mm, made of coconut shells and originating from Indonesia. You get them in packs of 1 kg, 4 kg or 20 kg.
The 26 mm size
26 mm is considered an all-rounder and fits most bowls and HMDs. The manufacturer quotes 90 to 120 minutes depending on the variant. How long it really lasts for you depends on your heat management. Gorilla natural charcoal is a natural charcoal: it does not light with a lighter or match but needs an electric charcoal lighter or a gas burner.
How to use Gorilla natural charcoal
- Place the cubes on the grid of the charcoal lighter and heat on the highest setting. Air must reach them from below.
- Turn the cubes with the tongs after about 5 minutes and let them glow for another 3 to 5 minutes. With the gas burner you heat them all around.
- They are ready when they glow red all around and carry a fine grey layer of ash.
- Tap off excess ash and place two cubes with the tongs at the edge on aluminium foil or in the HMD.
- Control the heat via the number and position of the cubes and add fresh charcoal after about 30 to 45 minutes.
Only light charcoal with good ventilation and only use it there.
Packs and storage
The 1 kg pack is suited for trying out; 4 kg and 20 kg are for everyone who smokes sessions often. Store the cubes dry and airtight, for example in a tin, and separately from tobacco so that they do not pick up any smell.
