Zauberwürfel natural charcoal
Here Zauberwürfel stands for natural charcoal in cube format for the hookah. In the category you will mainly find the common sizes 26 and 27 as well as various pack sizes. If you smoke with an HMD or chimney and want predictable heat development, these formats are usually the obvious choice.

Zauberwürfel charcoal for your hookah setup
The name matters less than the setup: 26 cubes are often practical when you want to control things a bit more finely. 27s usually bring somewhat more mass and fit well when your head and your heat management are designed for them. Which size runs better is therefore not a matter of "better or worse" but of how you pack and smoke.
26 or 27? How to make the right choice
If you would rather start in a controlled way, for example with more sensitive setups, 26 is often a sensible starting point. 27 can be interesting if you like to work with a somewhat stronger heat profile or your HMD offers enough room for it. With phunnels and HMDs in particular, it is worth a quick look at how much spacing and air your setup actually has.
26 or 27: the quick comparison
Hookain tip: Start new charcoal a little more cautiously and work your way up to your setup. Too much heat at the start is much harder to rescue in the head than a short, controlled top-up.
| Format | Features | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| 26 | finer to control, controlled start | more sensitive setups |
| 27 | more mass, stronger heat profile | setups designed for it |
Lighting and using natural charcoal properly
You do not light natural charcoal with a lighter but on a suitable electric charcoal burner. Let the cubes glow through completely before they go on the head. Black spots in practice usually mean: not ready yet.
Then you place the charcoal on the HMD or chimney to suit your setup. For even performance it helps to turn the cubes over the course of the session and adapt them to the heat development of your head. That way you get more consistency out of the tobacco and avoid needlessly harsh draws.
Who Zauberwürfel makes sense for
The category is mainly interesting if you are specifically looking for Zauberwürfel natural charcoal and want to choose between 26 and 27 cubes. That makes it suitable for adult hookah smokers who want to tune their setup deliberately rather than just take any charcoal.
If you already know which size runs cleanly with your head, HMD or chimney, you can pick the right one here straight away. And if you are still testing, comparing 26 and 27 is often the simplest way to narrow down your heat setup.
