A Wookah is made of wood, glass, stainless steel, leather and silicone. Each material wants something different, and wood does not tolerate a jet of water. With a funnel, a brush and a microfibre cloth, cleaning after the session is still quickly done. Here I show you the order that Wookah itself recommends.
Leave out harsh cleaners and wire brushes.
The easiest way is to clean the Wookah straight after smoking, once the bowl and charcoal have cooled down.
Lift the body off the vase, pull off the bowl adapter and charcoal tray, take the valve out of the adapter and pull out the seals.

Run room-temperature water through the inner tube of the body using a funnel and clean it from the inside with the plastic brush. You may hold stainless steel parts such as the dip tube under the tap.

Rinse the inside of the glass vase with room-temperature water and wipe the outside with a damp cloth.

Clean wooden parts on the outside only with a damp cloth. Rinse the inside of a wooden vase gently with room-temperature water.
Dry everything with microfibre and let it dry completely. Pat the seals dry with paper, then put the Wookah back together.

The wood is lacquered on the outside but can still absorb water. So never hold the body under the tap, never put it in water and never stand it on a wet surface. The stainless steel inner tube protects the wood from water and smoke on the inside, and you rinse it through a funnel.

Vases made of glass, lead-free crystal glass and crystal do not tolerate rapid temperature changes. So rinse them with room-temperature water and do not top them up with ice-cold water after cleaning. Wipe the outside damp and polish it with microfibre. The article on Wookah vase and mouthpiece shows which vase suits you.

Wookah also shows the cleaning in its own care video.

Do not put the Wookah in the sun or next to a radiator or vent. That way the wood does not fade or crack. Wipe up coffee, tea, red wine or molasses straight away.
After every session, hold the silicone seals briefly under the tap, then press them dry with a paper towel. If a seal is torn or no longer holds, replace it with the grommet set or, for the Mini, with the Mini grommet set. Which part helps with which fault is covered in the guide Wookah spare parts. For the water level and the systems of the Wookah, see the Wookah brand page, and for the bowl, the article Cleaning a hookah bowl.
No. Wookah advises against dishwashers and thermal disinfection, even for glass and stainless steel. You rinse all parts by hand with room-temperature water.
You gently pour room-temperature water through the hose via a funnel. The natural leather on the outside must not get wet. Then you let the hose dry completely.
No. The mouthpiece is not meant to be taken apart. You rinse the inside through a funnel and clean it with the plastic brush.
Wipe it off straight away. The lacquer protects the wood on the outside, but strongly staining liquids such as coffee, tea, red wine or molasses should not soak in.
After every session. Wookah recommends cleaning the wooden hookah after every use and rinsing the seals each time.
