TEREA and HEETS are both IQOS tobacco sticks, but they don't fit the same devices. TEREA belongs in the ILUMA range, HEETS in the older IQOS models with a heating blade. Here you can see which stick goes in which device and what's behind the colour names of the varieties.
| Sticks | Device | Contents | How it heats |
|---|---|---|---|
| TEREA | IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i, also i ONE and i PRIME | Tobacco | Metal strip in the stick, induction |
| DELIA | IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i | Tobacco | Metal strip in the stick, induction |
| LEVIA | IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i | No tobacco, with nicotine | Metal strip in the stick, induction |
| HEETS | IQOS ORIGINALS, IQOS 3 DUO, IQOS 2.4 Plus | Tobacco | Heating blade in the device |
No mixing and matching: every stick is made for its own device. neo, EVO and the other sticks for glo and Ploom are listed with their devices in the overview of all systems in the heated tobacco guide.
TEREA varieties are named after colours, not flavours: Amber, Bronze, Sienna, Russet, Silver and so on. The colour stands for the tobacco blend, not for a flavour. Since 23 October 2023, heated tobacco sticks in Germany are no longer allowed to have a characteristic flavour, so the varieties differ through the tobacco.
For orientation, IQOS gives every TEREA variety an intensity from 1 to 10. According to IQOS, it describes how strongly you notice the tobacco experience. The varieties don't differ in nicotine: IQOS states 0.5 milligrams per stick for every TEREA.
| Variety | Intensity | Character according to IQOS |
|---|---|---|
| TEREA Turquoise | ●●●●○○○○○○ 4 out of 10 | subtle and fresh |
| TEREA Silver | ●●●●○○○○○○ 4 out of 10 | harmonious and lightly roasted |
| TEREA Yellow | ●●●●●○○○○○ 5 out of 10 | fine and smooth |
| TEREA Amber | ●●●●●●○○○○ 6 out of 10 | balanced and full-bodied |
| TEREA Yellow Green | ●●●●●●●○○○ 7 out of 10 | pronounced and finely spicy¹ |
| TEREA Sienna | ●●●●●●●○○○ 7 out of 10 | rich and woody |
| TEREA Teak | ●●●●●●●○○○ 7 out of 10 | mature and warm |
| TEREA Bronze | ●●●●●●●●○○ 8 out of 10 | strong and rounded |
| TEREA Russet | ●●●●●●●●●○ 9 out of 10 | intense and roasted |
| TEREA Bold Red, Bold Black | ●●●●●●●●●● 10 out of 10 | highest level in the TEREA range |
¹ For Yellow Green, the value only appears on the pack; the IQOS product page no longer shows it. The range keeps changing: new varieties arrive, older ones are phased out. You can see what's currently available under TEREA. How strong DELIA, EVO and neo are is covered in the heated tobacco guide.
Three IQOS stick lines fit the ILUMA. TEREA and DELIA contain tobacco, LEVIA doesn't. Instead, LEVIA contains a plant-based carrier material with nicotine.
Tobacco-free therefore doesn't mean nicotine-free: in Germany, LEVIA is also only sold to people aged 18 and over. All three lines have the same metal strip in the stick and therefore only run in the ILUMA. You'll find the varieties under TEREA, DELIA and LEVIA.

HEETS are the tobacco sticks for IQOS devices with a heating blade: IQOS ORIGINALS, IQOS 3 DUO and the older 2.4 models. The blade pierces the tobacco and heats it from the inside. That's why you need to clean these devices regularly with the cleaning pen and cleaning sticks.
IQOS discontinued the blade devices a while ago. Since September 2026, HEETS are no longer available in the IQOS online shop either, and many retailers no longer stock them. What belongs to the brand is on the brand page IQOS.
A blade device pushes its heating blade into the tobacco. In a TEREA, a metal strip already sits there. IQOS therefore approves TEREA only for the ILUMA range and warns that in a blade device they cause damage to the device.
Conversely, HEETS lack the metal strip, so the ILUMA doesn't even start. The metal part has sharp edges: keep sticks away from children and pets. You'll find which devices are currently available under Devices.

A look at the pack is usually enough. TEREA, DELIA and LEVIA say “for IQOS ILUMA”. neo says “designed for glo”, EVO says “for Ploom”.
Each pack contains 20 sticks, TEREA XL has 26. A carton has ten packs. Each stick lasts one session, after which it's used up and can't be restarted. In Germany, sticks with tobacco and LEVIA are only sold to people aged 18 and over, including online orders.
In Germany, you let a used stick cool down briefly and put it in the residual waste, not in the yellow bag. This also applies to TEREA with a metal strip.
The heated tobacco device itself, with its lithium battery, counts as electronic waste. In Germany, retailers that sell heated tobacco devices take it back free of charge. How exactly that works is covered in the article Disposing of vapes.
Turquoise and Silver, both at 4 out of 10. Yellow follows at 5. There's no difference in nicotine: according to IQOS, every TEREA has 0.5 milligrams per stick.
HEETS have no longer been available in the IQOS online shop since September 2026, and many retailers no longer stock them. They don't fit an ILUMA anyway.
Yes. Like TEREA, DELIA has a metal strip in the stick and runs in all devices of the ILUMA range, including the i ONE and the i PRIME.
No. LEVIA contains no tobacco, but it does contain nicotine. That's why LEVIA, like tobacco sticks, is only sold to people aged 18 and over in Germany.
No. glo takes neo and Lucky Strike for glo, Ploom takes EVO. The systems heat differently, so the sticks aren't interchangeable.
No. A stick lasts one session. After that the tobacco is heated through, and a second start does nothing.
