Inhaling triggers the coil via a sensor. Wattage moves in 1 W steps from 5 to 30 W; OXBAR recommends 18 to 22 W for the supplied 0.8 ohm pod. A small colour screen shows output and battery level, while three slider positions on the flank range from a tight MTL draw to an open RDL one.
Key facts
In the box
You receive the battery unit in the finish you picked and one Oxpod Elite pod with a 0.8 ohm mesh coil. Neither a charging cable nor liquid is listed among the contents.
Good to know
Pod
The pod snaps into the battery unit magnetically. Liquid goes in at the base behind a silicone seal. There is no separate coil change here; when the taste turns flat, you swap the complete pod. According to the maker only Oxpod Elite pods fit.
Finishes
Black Carbon has a carbon texture; Gold Black and Matte Gunmetal pair a black leather front with a gold or dark grey frame. Grey, Shadow Blue, Shadow Brown and Shadow Green are single colour, White Crocodile is croc-embossed, Mech Red carries a circuit-board graphic and Meteor Shower fine streaks fading from blue to pink. Battery, electronics and pod are identical.
Setup
Plug a USB-C lead into the device and a 5 V adapter. While charging, the screen displays the battery level.
Pull the pod out, lift the seal at its base, add liquid, press the seal shut and push the pod back in. Let it rest for roughly five minutes so the cotton can soak up liquid.
Press the power button five times quickly. Three clicks open the wattage menu; 18 to 22 W suits the 0.8 ohm pod.
Move the side slider to one of its three positions. Holding the button for two seconds locks or unlocks the device.

All good
Having USB-C means one less charging cable to carry.

Well-chosen resistance
I think 0.8 Ohm is a good choice of resistance for my liquid. Refilling via Bottom Fill is quick even when I’m out and about.
