The bowl is the vessel on top of the hookah. It can be made of ceramics, glass, pumice or metal and has a hollow for the tobacco. The smoke passes through holes in the bowl into the stem. In the hookah bowl section, HMDs, foil pokers and packing boards are listed alongside bowls; the part filter separates them.
Telling bowls apart
- Design: Phunnel bowls have one hole on a raised central cone, multi-hole bowls several holes in the base.
- Material: Earthenware and ceramics are the most common, along with clay bodies such as red or white clay.
- Rim and connection: At the top, the lip decides whether an HMD or chimney fits; at the bottom, the bowl sits with its spigot in the grommet.
Some bowls are listed under the English value Bowl; select both values to see them all. Bowls come from brands including Hookain, Alpaca, Lavart Hookah, Sheeshaya and Mira.
