Tangerine in hookah tobacco: a sweet citrus fruit

Compared with orange and lemon, tangerine is sweeter and lower in acidity, but fragrant and peel-led. Its flavour recalls the essential oils released when peeling the fruit.

Combined with exotic fruits

The pairings are evenly spread: passion fruit, pineapple, maracuja, lemon and mango appear about equally often, and none of them stands out. Tangerine therefore mainly shows up in tropical, citrusy blends, where the exotic fruits provide acidity and body and the tangerine the citrus fragrance.

When boiling a ceramic bowl clean, take care with changes in temperature: with rapid changes, the temperature on the outside shifts faster than inside, creating stresses in the material that can lead to breakage. That is why you lower the bowl slowly into the water. Tangerine varieties come from brands including Shades, Blackburn, Aino, Fumari and Musthave.
