Loyal Mel #5: Virginia shisha tobacco from Germany, 20 g. Flavour: honeydew melon and watermelon, fruity-sweet. Bowl set-up, heat and questions about the variety.

Flavour of Mel

Mel combines two melons: the full, sweet honeydew melon and the juicy, lighter watermelon. The result is fruity and sweet, without mint. More tobacco with melon: Honeydew melon shisha tobacco.

Virginia Leaf from Germany

Loyal comes from Germany and relies on Virginia Leaf, called Blonde Leaf in the scene. The tobacco is finely cut and moist; you put it straight from the pack into the bowl. You will find the other numbers under Loyal shisha tobacco.

Bowl and heat

Melon varieties prefer it rather gentle. Build Mel loosely in a Phunnel, put an HMD on top and raise the heat only slowly. A second round with fresh charcoal is usually enough for a long session.

1 × Loyal Mel #5, 20 g shisha tobacco.

Wieder gut!

Ich mach es kurz: gefällt mir! Mit Freunden haben wir ein paar Kombis ausprobiert, alle stimmig. Macht so weiter!

A solid five

I was unsure at first, now I'm convinced. Took the 20 g to try it first, and the blend has won me over. I like Virginia Leaf, and the combination went down well with the lads too. The smell when you open it already tells you where it’s headed, and it’s still the same after the first week.

Beats my old blend

An order that felt right. My take is based on a handful of bowls so far. I’ve been picking this over my old blends for two months now. Hardly any twigs, saves time when prepping. The flavour lasts right to the end of the session. There'll surely be another order.
