At 0.7 Ohm, one brand shapes the picture: most of the models come from VooPoo, with Aspire and Vaporesso also represented. Many items also carry 0.4 Ohm and 1.0 Ohm, individual ones 1.2 or 1.8 Ohm. Several values on one device point to different heads or pods.
What a head's resistance depends on
- Material: Every wire material has its own specific resistance.
- Length: With the same cross-section, a longer wire has a higher resistance.
- Cross-section: With the same length, a thicker wire has a lower resistance.
These three quantities determine that a head comes out at 0.7 Ohm (0.7 Ohm in German notation). At the same voltage, around 40 per cent more current flows through it than through a head of 1.0 Ohm, but considerably less than through one of 0.4 Ohm. The head's manufacturer states the matching power.
