That is exactly what hookah cleaning products are for: with them you loosen sludge and residue more precisely than by simply rinsing.

Cleaning products for your hookah
In this category you will find cleaners for the regular care of your hookah: the Moze Rocket hookah cleaner as a spray, cleaning powders such as Schmand weg and AO KOKA Clean Powder, and cleaning balls from Two Face for the base. There is also AO Shisha Wix, a ceramic paste for ground joints and threads. Depending on the application, a suitable cleaner helps you get glass and other washable parts clean again.
Hookain tip: Do not wait to clean until the hookah is visibly heavily soiled. Regular care saves you much more effort later.
When a cleaner makes sense
A dedicated cleaning product is worth it whenever clear water is no longer enough. That is often the case after several sessions or when smells have set in. Especially when switching to a different tobacco flavour, a thorough clean can help so that old residues do not carry over into the next session.

How to use cleaning products properly
It is best to take your hookah apart into its individual washable parts. Then apply the cleaner to the affected areas as directed by the manufacturer, let it work briefly and loosen residue with a brush or cleaning balls. Afterwards rinse everything thoroughly with clear water until no cleaner residue remains.
Chemistry and mechanics combined
Powder cleaners such as Schmand weg or KOKA Clean Powder loosen a lot just by soaking. Whatever still clings afterwards, you get out with a brush or cleaning balls. That gets the base and stem in particular much cleaner than with water alone.
Practical tip: Cleaning balls are especially handy for the base, because when swirled with lukewarm water they work on many spots at the same time.
A clean hookah, a clean taste
Cleaning products are not a needless extra but a sensible part of your setup. They remove residue consistently and keep your hookah in good condition between sessions. If you clean your hookah regularly and rinse thoroughly afterwards, the next session tastes noticeably more neutral.
