Savu Strawbelly is a Virginia shisha tobacco in a 25 g tin. Flavour: strawberry with a fruit gum note.
Flavour of Strawbelly
Strawbelly is a strawberry tobacco with a fruit-gum note reminiscent of strawberry laces. The taste is sweet and fruity, more candy than freshly picked strawberry. For a fruit mix, Strawbelly goes well with Raspbelly.
Base tobacco and cut
The base tobacco is German class 1 Virginia. The cut is fine to medium. The blend is moist and ready to smoke without extra moistening. The manufacturer is the DuCe Tabakmanufaktur in Hofheim am Taunus.
Bowl and heat
In the scene Savu is mostly built in a multi-hole bowl or in a Phunnel with HMD; the multi-hole bowl with chimney is also common. A chimney bowl and aluminium foil work too. You fill the tobacco loose and fluffy without pressing it down, and give it time to light. If the draw turns scratchy, there is usually too much heat.
The 25 g tin
The small tin is meant for trying: it is enough for one or two bowls. If you like the variety, take the large tin next time. Close the lid well after opening so the tobacco does not dry out. You can find all varieties of the brand at Savu.

Started small
An acquaintance recommended it to me. Took the 25 g to try it first, and the blend has won me over. Candy sits well alongside strawberry, neither takes over. Anyone opening the tin can tell straight away how aromatic it is. A little too much molasses for my liking.

Authentically done
The candy profile is authentically done. I'll gladly come back.

Well done all round
Smoked it with the lads and we agreed it’s properly sweet. Came discreetly packed with no obvious labelling.
