The Pascha 5 Hole Gitano from Hookain is a tall multi-hole bowl with five holes made of stoneware, handmade in Seville. It is around 10 cm tall, a good 7 cm wide at the top, and the reservoir measures around 6.6 cm. For one session you pack it with around 10 to 15 g of tobacco.
Tall Tradi bowl with five holes
At a good 10 cm, the Pascha is clearly taller than a classic Tradi. There are five holes in the base of the reservoir, with the tobacco directly above them. The smoke travels through the tobacco down into the smoke column. In doing so, molasses can run through the holes, so you pack loosely and not too wet.
HMD or aluminium foil
The rim has the standard size, and common HMDs sit cleanly on it. Alternatively, you stretch aluminium foil tight over the bowl and pierce many small holes above the tobacco.
Stoneware from Seville, glazed inside
The Pascha is made in a small workshop in Seville. It is shaped by hand, fired at 1,250 °C and glazed. The reservoir is fitted with a fine glaze on the inside so that molasses does not soak into the material so easily and the bowl is easier to clean. A silicone bowl grommet is intended for sealing. Because every bowl is made by hand, each piece is one of a kind. The Gitano finish is kept in beige and brown.
How to pack the Pascha
- Briefly mix the tobacco in the tin and let very wet tobacco drain a little.
- Sprinkle the tobacco loosely into the reservoir and do not press it down, so that the holes stay clear.
- Fill to just below the rim, so that one to two millimetres of air remain below the HMD or foil.
- Put on the HMD or stretch and perforate the foil, place the charcoal on top and let it warm up calmly.
- Regulate the heat via ventilation or the number of charcoal pieces. If the smoke becomes harsh, take some heat off.

How much tobacco do I need for the Pascha?
Around 10 to 15 g are enough for one session. How much it is exactly depends on the cut, the moisture and how loosely you pack.
Does an HMD fit on the Pascha?
Yes, the rim has the standard size. Common HMDs fit, and aluminium foil works just as well.
Does the tall bowl fit on every hookah?
At a good 10 cm tall, the Pascha needs some room above the bowl adapter. Make sure the silicone grommet sits firmly, so that the bowl stands straight and secure.
Why does molasses run into the smoke column?
With a multi-hole bowl, the tobacco lies directly above the holes. If it is too wet or packed too densely, molasses drips down. Packing loosely and letting very moist tobacco drain beforehand helps.
How do I clean the bowl?
Only once the bowl has cooled down completely do you rinse it out with lukewarm water and clear the holes. Hot ceramic cannot withstand cold shock, otherwise the glaze can crack.
