Cucumber has hardly any sweetness and hardly any acidity. Its flavour is green, watery and a little melon-like – botanically, the cucumber belongs to the same family as the melon. In tobacco it therefore provides a green undertone rather than a main note of its own.
- With lime or lemon, the result is a profile reminiscent of cucumber water with citrus.
- Menthol and ice add a cooling effect.
- Honeydew melon makes use of the family link and brings sweetness to the green note.
On covering the bowl: besides perforated foil, a metal screen is also common. In both cases the glowing charcoal lies directly on the cover, whereas an HMD holds it in a separate container with a lid. You will find cucumber varieties from brands including Aqua Mentha, Musthave, Maridan, Kismet and Aino.
