Marmalade in hookah tobacco: cooked-down fruit
Marmalade stands for fruit cooked down with sugar rather than fresh fruit. The range is small, but the combinations are unusually broad.

Marmalade is not about a single fruit but about its cooked-down state: dense, sweet, with a caramelised sugar note and less acidity than the raw fruit. Which fruit lies behind it only becomes clear from the variety's second flavour.
- Rhubarb, strawberry, raspberry: the fruits the marmalade is meant to be made from.
- Vanilla: rounds things off towards dessert.
- Bacon: an outlier with a savoury note, showing how freely manufacturers combine in this segment.
When filling the bowl, it pays to look at the type of cut. The volume of the reservoir stays the same, the weight of the filling does not: for one and the same bowl, manufacturers give different gram figures for dark leaf and for Virginia. The marmalade varieties come from brands including Darkside; further manufacturers will appear as soon as they assign the value.
