The rose flavour recalls rosewater and rose petals: perfumed, sweetish and a little powdery. In the filter, rose sits next to the more general value flower; some varieties carry both. Unlike fruit flavours, rose brings hardly any acidity; its character lies above all in its scent.
What rose is combined with
- Mint: the most frequent partner, blossom plus a cooling effect.
- Flower and peach blossom: strengthen the floral character and stay entirely with blossoms.
- Peach and grapefruit: bring fruit, one sweet, the other bitter and tart.
Glazed ceramic bowls sometimes develop fine cracks in the glaze, known as crazing, because body and glaze do not expand equally. Over time such cracks may darken. Rose varieties are available from Kismet, Blackburn, Moze Shisha, Maridan and Jent Tobacco, among others.
