Citrusy hookah tobacco: citrus notes as a direction
Citrusy groups varieties with a citrus note, regardless of the individual fruit. The acidity is usually balanced with sweetness.

The taste value citrusy describes the direction, not the fruit: the peel note, acidity and essential-oil character of lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit or bergamot. Which one it is exactly is revealed by the flavour filter. Many citrusy varieties also carry sour, but not all: orange or bergamot can do without pronounced acidity.
- Sweet: the most frequent companion, citrus with sugar as in lemonade.
- Fruity and fresh: equally frequent, citrus with a further fruit or a bright note.
- Especially intense and spicy: less frequent, for example in strong or spiced citrus profiles.
Citrusy differs from the value sour in naming the fruit family, not the acidity. A metal screen used in place of foil works the same way: the charcoal sits directly on top. Manufacturers of citrusy varieties include Al Massiva Tobacco, Musthave, Blackburn, XRACHER and Kismet.
