Packing a bowl with dark Burley
Blackburn is made of dark Burley and is stronger than Virginia tobacco. Stir the tin once before every bowl, because the molasses settles at the bottom. In the phunnel, the moist tobacco sits above the hole: pack it loosely, leave a few millimetres of air on top and do not press it down. Put an HMD or thick aluminium foil on top. Start with low heat and only add charcoal when the smoke gets thinner.
If Chupper Grupper on its own is too strong for you, mix a small part into Virginia tobacco and raise the share to taste.

Nearly there
Worked my way through three Blackburn blends so far, this is the fourth. The grape note is nicely present. Genuinely fruity without going to extremes. I leave it out in the air briefly first, otherwise it’s too juicy.

Ich bin wirklich froh über den Kauf. Ordentlich verpackt, die Dose wirkt stabil und dicht. Am Freitag bestellt, schon am nächsten Tag geliefert. Kein Kunstaroma-Gefühl, Traube wirkt echt. Als Burley schmeckt die Sorte runder, als ich erwartet hatte.
