Hookain · Chess - Tradi Phunnel - Natural
Model: Natural
€6.90*
The Chess Tradi Phunnel Natural is a Phunnel bowl in a classic Tradi shape made of stoneware in a natural beige tone. It is handmade in Spain and suits aluminium foil as well as an HMD. Depending on the tobacco, 8 g of Virginia or 11 g of dark leaf fit in.
Tradi shape with Phunnel chimney
On the outside the bowl has the curved silhouette of a classic clay bowl with a wide rim, narrow waist and ribbed foot. On the inside it works like a Phunnel: in the middle stands a raised chimney, and the tobacco lies in a ring around it. This way the molasses stays in the reservoir and does not run into the smoke column. You can find more glazes and shapes under Tradi.
Natural beige tone
Natural stands for the beige clay without coloured glaze or pattern. This makes the bowl look simple and suits every hookah. A light bowl shows traces of heat and molasses faster than a dark one; after a few sessions it develops a slight patina.
How to pack the bowl
- Loosen the tobacco and sprinkle it loosely into the ring around the chimney; the centre hole stays free.
- Fill to just below the rim so that the foil or HMD does not touch the tobacco.
- With foil: stretch it tightly and poke only over the tobacco. With HMD: put it on and get it going with two to three charcoals.
You can find suitable toppers under HMDs and chimney toppers.
Frequently asked questions
How much tobacco fits in the bowl?
About 8 g of Virginia or 11 g of dark leaf. For a short session alone, that is just right.
Does the beige tone discolour?
Yes, over time it gets a little darker at the rim and foot. Thorough rinsing after every session keeps the discolouration slight.
How do I clean the bowl?
Let it cool down completely first, then rinse with lukewarm water and go over it with a soft brush. Hot ceramic can crack under cold water.
