The cherry flavour has two faces. Sour cherry brings a strong, red acidity, sweet cherry a dark, juicy sweetness. Many cherry notes also carry a hint of bitter almond, which comes from the stone and recalls marzipan.

  • With berries: raspberry and blueberry are the most frequent partners, followed by strawberry.
  • With cold: ice and menthol appear almost as often on cherry varieties and add a cooling effect.

Phunnel: the molasses stays up

A phunnel has only one opening, and it sits at the tip of a cone in the centre of the bowl. Because the edge of this opening is higher than the floor of the reservoir, the molasses cannot flow into the stem. You spread the tobacco around the cone. You will find cherry varieties from brands including Savu, Aino, Darkside, 7Days and Argileh.
