Chocolate stands for a dark cocoa note with sweetness and a dry, almost bitter depth. In hookah tobacco it is a rare value, and nearly all the varieties that carry it build a dessert from it.
Nut, biscuit, milk
Hazelnut is the most frequent companion to chocolate, a combination reminiscent of nut nougat. Peanut and pistachio vary the nut, biscuit brings a baked note and milk a creamy base. A variety with chocolate as its only flavour is the exception.
If molasses drips through the base openings of a multi-hole bowl, it ends up in the stem – one reason to clean the stem regularly. With a single-hole bowl, the raised rim of the hole prevents this. Manufacturers with chocolate varieties include Blackburn, Anda and Aino. For the nutty direction, combine chocolate with hazelnut in the filter.
