Manufacturers use hot to mark a fiery component in the flavour, reminiscent of chilli, pepper or ginger. It never stands alone: in this small selection, sweet, fruity and sour appear equally often, exotic and spicy somewhat less. With so few varieties the range stays easy to survey, and each has its own profile.
The result is sweet-and-hot fruit profiles, for example tropical fruit with heat. Hot differs from the value spicy in that the heat is in the foreground, not the variety of spices.
