Petit Popo - Phunnel - Cool Water

The Petit Popo Cool Water is a handmade Phunnel bowl made of Spanish stoneware. Turquoise meets beige, and your HMD sits on top. As a guide for the filling, around 13 g of Virginia tobacco or 16 g of dark leaf apply.

Why a Phunnel?

Instead of holes in the bottom, the Cool Water has a chimney in the middle whose opening is at the top. The tobacco lies in a ring around it. Molasses that escapes while smoking collects in the bowl and does not drip into the smoke column.

Packing the Cool Water properly

Loosen the tobacco before filling and lay it in a ring around the chimney. The chimney opening stays free, otherwise there is no draw. With dark leaf, it can be a little more than with Virginia. How close the tobacco reaches to the HMD depends on your HMD; you feel your way in when getting it going. Colour and care

Every bowl is made by hand, so your piece differs slightly from the photo in shape and colour gradient. After the session, you let it cool down completely and only then rinse it out with water.

Around 13 g of Virginia or 16 g of dark leaf. Depending on the cut and moisture, somewhat more or less fits.

What is the chimney in the middle for?

The smoke is drawn down through its top opening into the smoke column. Because the opening lies above the tobacco, the molasses stays in the bowl.

Why does the ceramic discolour over time?

Molasses can soak into the ceramic and become visible on the outside as a dark patch. Heating and cooling can also cause fine stress lines. This is normal with ceramic and not grounds for a complaint.
