Eucalyptus is a leaf flavour: resinous, a little bitter and with a camphor-like sharpness that many people know from sweets or bath products. On top of that comes a cooling effect, which is why eucalyptus in tobacco almost always sits next to other cooling or herbal values.
The pairings in the range are correspondingly clear. Mint comes first, followed by menthol, bubblegum and ice; now and then anise is added. Fruit varieties with eucalyptus, on the other hand, are rare. If you only want a trace of it when mixing your own, use it as a small share next to a fruit.
A word on the bowl
The trade calls it “bleeding” when an unglazed bowl releases molasses it has soaked up. Behind this is the open porosity of unglazed clay; a glaze closes these pores at the surface. Eucalyptus varieties come from brands including Moze Shisha, 7Days and Darkside.
